De-implementation comes from the medical field. It's the process of abandoning existing low value practices, and comes down to a partial reduction, complete reversal, substitution with a related replacement and a substitution with an unrelated replacement.
It's time for those of us in education to begin engaging in dialogue about what no longer serves us, but it's not merely about getting rid of what we don't like. It's about understanding whether what we do like actually works.
